6200 Sq Ft - Interior Remodel

A Beautiful Place of Worship

Violet Crown City Church is a neighborhood community whose home is in a true 1950s midcentury modern gem.

In 2020, Violet Crown City Church had the opportunity to move from a mobile space for worship - revitalizing a sleepy mid-century neighborhood place of worship for the needs of their young, family focused community. Out of that need, Monark was able to completely transform the space. By paying homage to the incredible bones of the space, while highlighting aspects of the original design (specifically stained glass windows and architectural wood) this restoration and interior remodel both preserved the building’s history and breathed new life to the space.

During construction, it became quickly apparent that the original 1950s era building lacked electrical grounding across the board, however Monark overcame this challenge in the most cost-effective and safe way possible.

Architectural design for the space was directed by Grasso Gay Architects (San Antonio) and custom millwork installed by M2.
